Common questions on Equipment for Players and Coaches
Skate sharpening – Rule of thumb is every 4 – 6 skates on indoor ice, more frequently on outdoor ice.
Hockey Sticks – If you are not sure which way your child shoots (left or right), a straight blade stick is recommended. Most sporting goods stores will be happy to cut your stick to the correct height (a good rule of thumb for stick height, with skates on the stick should come between the collar bone and chin. With the skates off, the stick should come between the chin and nose).
Coaches: Must wear a Hockey Helmet while on the ice.
